Architect Africa Notification to Users

ARCHITECT AFRICA NETWORK & ARCHITECT AFRICA ONLINE

NEWS RELEASE

1. Ownership Changes

The Architect Africa Network was recently sold by the Architect Africa Collective (AAC) to a commercial Internet publisher, IB Group SARL Ltd. Following this acquisition, several network changes will be implemented over the coming months, effective 1 May 2008.

The founding owners, a private asssociation known as the Architect Africa Collective (AAC), dissolved following the formation of a registered, BEE compliant, non profit organisation in 2007 - the Architects Collective of South Africa.

2. Network Disruptions

The format, function and facilities currently offered by the Architect Africa stable of web assets will undergo a change so as to comply with the IB Group standards, look and feel. There will be many changes.

Cleaning up and restructuring a twelve year old legacy network to serve current demands is no small task and access to the network may be partially offline at times.

3. Focus

The focus of the network will shift away from South Africa, which is very well covered by the Architects Collective network (http://archinet.co.za) amongst dozens of others, to encompass a deeper Pan African perspective - serving all countries on the continent equally and the continent as a whole.

The goal of the Architect Africa Network will, however, always remain what it has been for 13 years online;

1. To be the best African Built Environment Information Network in the world.
2. To provide full and free access to our systems to all visitors and users.
3. To publish from the fastest and most reliable servers and delivery networks available.
