SACAP Registrar Dorothy Brislin Resigns From Office
It is with sadness that the Architect Africa Collective learns of Dorothy Brislin's resignation as Registrar of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) to pursue a career in film and architecture.
Under the leadership of SACAP's first Black president, Malcolm Campbell, Ms Brislin was responsible for reshaping the remnants of an apartheid driven mechanism and for turning it into the successful, integrated, representative and independent body that it is today.
The architectural profession in South Africa will always be indebted to Ms Brislin for her admirable efforts and achievements whilst in office.
Whilst the Profession loses a founding figure that will be much missed, African architecture will gain from Ms Brislin's experience and commitment to the all important relationship between film and architecture - we look forward with anticipation to reporting on Ms Brislin's projects in the future.
