Constraints Limit Construction in Botswana

The Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mr Dikgang Makgalemele says resource constraints do not permit the ministry to build information offices in every village or sub-district.

He said instead they use regional offices to cover a number of localities, citing Mabutsane sub district as an example, that it is covered by facilities from Jwaneng which is relatively not too far away from Mabutsane.“This is how my ministry ensures efficient sharing of resources and therefore crews are often pulled from elsewhere to provide coverage where there is no crew in place,” he said.

Mr Makgalemele was responding to a parliamentary question from Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP, Mr Shwan Ntlhaile who had wanted to know whether Mabutsane sub-district did not qualify for an information office, if so, when the office would be built.
