Entebbe Airport Expansion On Course

A year after President Yoweri Museveni performed a ground-breaking ceremony for the expansion and upgrade of Entebbe international airport, the first phase of the airport’s baggage and technical buildings is underway.
According to Ignie Igunduura, the manager, Corporate Affairs at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the new baggage-handling system will be completed by mid-September this year. The handling system is meant to ensure faster transit of passengers.
“The new faster baggage-handling system will use x-ray monitors to check and isolate any bags that may contain dangerous objects like bombs. The use of x-ray monitors will minimize human interference and hence improve security but also reduce queues,” Igunduura said recently.
