President Mugabe suspends Tomana
PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe has suspended Prosecutor-General Johannes Tomana to allow a three-member Tribunal he has appointed to look into allegations of corruption levelled against him by the Judicial Service Commission.
Advocate Ray Goba will be acting Prosecutor-General until the tribunal chaired by retired judge Moses Chinhengo has completed its investigations on Tomana. The other members of are Emmanuel agade and Elinah Machiya.
Tomana was arrested in January and appeared in court where he was released on US$1 000 bail coupled with stringent conditions after he ordered the release of two men who were part of a quartet suspected of trying to petrol-bomb President Robert Mugabe’s Alpha and Omega Daily farm in Mazowe.
