Evictions to Go on as City Authorities Clamp Down on Rent Defaulters
By LILLIAN MUTAVI
The Nairobi City County government will continue with the eviction of tenants living in its houses and who have not been paying rent in a bid to recover Sh60 million arrears.
The operation, which started last week and which is targeting 21 estates owned by the county government, will see the tenants of 9,307 units forced out of their homes every Tuesday and Thursday.
Last week the evictions saw four families rendered homeless and their household items impounded by the county enforcement agents.
