The trio are also in the running for the league’s players’ player and best midfielder accolades.

“It feels great to be nominated,” says Billiat, who has already been named KICK OFF Footballer of the Season after starring for the Brazilians in their championship triumph.

“The guys worked so hard, pushed to the limit. We had to come to the party. People called us the ‘CBD’ and we are happy. It was the contribution of everybody in the team. We had to come to the party and help the team win the title which what we did and are really grateful about it.”

Billiat adds: “It’s a great achievement to be just nominated and not win it. If Keagan or Hlompho win it, I am happy. It’s still in the family.”

The Premier Soccer League’s annual awards ceremony will take place at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on May 30, and will be televised live on SuperSport (SS4) and SABC1 from 20h30. – Kickoff.com
