Estate Surveyors Urge Fashola to Pursue Land Administration Amendment
By Chinedum Uwaegbulam
With the dearth of housing supply and rising demand, estate surveyors and valuers have urged the Federal Government to ease land administration by reviewing and enacting title registration laws in the country.
The surveyors, under the umbrella of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), in a proposal to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, said that the Land Use Act has posed challenges to land administration in the country.
They urged the Minister to approve the regulation proposed by the Presidential Technical Committee on Land reforms and the National Council of States, which will necessitate the title and register of land both in the urban and rural areas.
