Rain Kills 19, Wounds 50 People in Luanda
Luanda — At least 19 people were killed and 50 injured and four reported missing is the temporary report of the rain that fell on Monday and Wednesday in Luanda city.
The spokesman of National Service for Civil Protection and Fire (SNPCB), Faustino Sebastião, told Angop that the number of victims could rise.
According to him were flooded hundreds of homes, more than 800 families are homeless and 20 homes collapsed.
Faustino Sebastião mentioned as most affected municipalities of Viana, Cacuaco, Belas, Cazenga and urban districts of Ingombota, Kilamba Kiaxi, Rangel and Maianga.
He stressed that the support continues to be provided by local administrations, from the assembly shelters and the delivery of essential goods, especially to displaced families, as well as to perform the funerals.
