3 Dead As Kampala Building Next to Ham Towers Collapses
Kampala city lord mayor Erias Lukwago Tuesday visited Wandegeya where a building collapsed, killing three people and injuring scores.
Shortly after inspecting the rubbles where some people are believed to be still trapped, Lukwago attributed the accident to negligence.
“In my observation, this is not an accident. It is something that happened out of sheer negligence.
This structure has been here for a very long time and it’s among those that were supposed to be erased because it is in the road reserve. It is a very unfortunate occurrence. I want to commensurate with the victims of the incident. I express my deepest sympathies to the deceased’s families,” he said.
Lukwago arrived just a few minutes after the departure of Kamapala Capital City Authority (KCCA) executive director Jennifer Musisi.
