Tomana challenges placement on remand
The Prosecutor General, Johannes Tomana on Tuesday filed an application challenging his placement on remand, saying those prosecuting him have no authority to do so.
Tomana, who was back in court for his routine remand, argued through his legal representative that under the constitution of Zimbabwe, the Prosecutor General is the one who gives authority to prosecute.
The state is expected to file its response this Wednesday.
Tomana is facing charges of abuse of office after ordering the release of two people implicated in the attempted bombing of the Gushungo Dairy farm.
