Spiritual Spectacles causes stir
A YOUTHFUL prophet in the high density of Glen-View has caused a stir with rare prophetic powers that has send tongues wagging.
He dubs the phenomenon “Spiritual Spectacles”.
Under this concept , thirty -three year old Prophet Tapiwa Freddy of Goodness and Mercy Ministries prays for an individual and immediately his/her eyes are “annointed’ with a spiritual eye where they can prophesy on their own.
Scores of people throng his shrine in Glen-View 3 to receive these ‘spiritual spectacles’.
He has however received a backlash from some religious circleswho deemed this phenomenon a farce.
In an interview, Prophet Freddy scoffed at the pessimists and defended his strength.
“We believe that salvation comes through Jesus Christ and I was endowed with a rare gift of spiritual spectacles and its biblical.
‘I can cite an example when Prophet Elisha prayed for his servant to prophesy as written in the book of Second Kings Chapter 6 vs 17.
“There are several biblical examples including a donkey that was given spiritual spectacles in the book of Numbers.”
“I believe this increases a person’s faith,”he said.
Recently, Prophet Freddy caused a shockwave when a married couple confronted him with the wife accusing her husband of cheating but they received ‘Spiritual Spectacles’ where the wife saw the real truth and the marriage was saved.
The testimonial of the accused was aired on a national radio station (name supplied) and FingazLifestlye is in possession of the testimonial video.
This reporter quizzed Prophet Freddy on how he became a‘spiritual spectacles specialist’?
He said that he started prophesying at the age of 10 when he was still in primary school in the dusty streets of Glen View.
“I got my calling when I was in grade 4 and since then I have been prophesying.”he revealed.
After high school at Glen View High 2, Prophet Freddy enrolled for bible school at Soul Travelling Bible Institute from 2010-2012 and proceeded to His Presence Ministries.
He also had a successful stint in gospel music where he made a name for himself after releasing two albums namely Messiah (2002) and Serevende in 2006.
His hit titled VaroyiMaboorangoma taken off his second album Serevende made it to the charts and received generous airplay on local radio stations.
However, this was to be shelved as a result of pressure that he received from his prophetic mission.
“I had to suspend music because I wanted to concentrate on the ministry and become a fisher of men.
‘However, I am working on a third album because I believe music is a good way to capture people to turn to God and I have a strong passion on music,” he said.
Prophet Freddy is happily married and the couple also runs a charity organisation called Goodness Of Mercy Hand Of Care which has embarked on several philanthropic missions in Harare with the latest one being in Epworth where more than 500 children benefited.
