Zimbabwe Council for Tourism elects new Presidium
RED Apple Hotels chief executive officer Francis Ngwenya has been re-elected president of the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism (ZCT’s) at the council’s annual general meeting last Thursday.
Ngwenya, was nominated unopposed and will now hold the post until the 2016 annual general meeting. He has served for two years since being elected in 2013.
Three vice presidents were re-elected after being nominated unopposed. They are Head of Holiday Inns in Zimbabwe -Tich Hwingwiri, Winnie Muchanyuka, country manager in Zimbabwe for South African Airways and Gavin Rennie, a senior executive in the Africa Albida Tourism Group.
“The presidential group was returned unanimously and we look forward to year in which this group spearheads the implementation of the newly-created ZCT Strategic Plan for the coming three years,” said Paul Matamisa, chief executive of the ZCT.
“The focus for the coming year will be the strengthening of ZCT as well as of its sectoral associations and regional branches, aimed at making ZCT more effective as the voice of travel and tourism operators throughout the country.”
