Squatters invade Windhoek's Augustineum School

PART of the hostel block at Augustineum Secondary School in Windhoek has been turned into a squatter camp with 47 people staying there for free.
From the 47 boarders, only six are essential and they have seven dependants. The non-essential boarders are 13 and they have tagged along 21 relatives including children, wives and lovers putting, a strain on the facilities. Although these previously stayed free of charge, there is an agreement that they should pay for lodging.
Hostel superintendent John Shimuningeni yesterday confirmed that they are struggling with the squatters and how to regulate their stay because most of them had brought relatives, girlfriends and boyfriends with them.
