Port Elizabeth - A teenage boy was found dead after he was trapped in a building that collapsed in Shauderville, Port Elizabeth. Police said 14-year-old Ronaldo Derges was found on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, said the building collapsed while the boy was collecting bricks.
"One of the boys remained outside while Derges and his friend collected bricks. The boy who was outside of the building at the time, noticed cracks forming and warned the two boys. Derges tried to run out but he was trapped as the building collapsed and consequently died," Labans said.
Labans said the one other teenage boy escaped unharmed. Labans said the public was warned to avoid abandoned and dilapidated buildings.
