The Lilongwe District Council is to construct seven classroom blocks worth K70 million in its West and East education districts using funds from the Local Development Fund (LDF) through the Education Sector Wide Approach (ESWAP).
The new school blocks which will be constructed using cement blocks as one way of conserving the environment are expected to be completed within three months.
Speaking during the launch of the projects Tuesday at Gwerambavu Junior Primary School in the area of Chief Kalolo, the council’s Director of Public Works, Mathews Lungu advised the project committee members to work hard to ensure their timely completion.
