Construction Authority Staff Protest Interference
SENIOR members of staff at the National Construction Authority have alleged mismanagement, citing recent key appointments that were communicated via WhatsApp.
NCA executive director Daniel Manduku is accused by the managers, who asked not to be named for fear of victimisation, of failing to consult or follow due process.
On July 27, Manduku, who was in China, sent his managers the WhatsApp message:
"Greetings. I have appointed Architect Mwilu to be acting manager, Regional Offices, effective 15th August. I have also appointed Eng Ndinyo to head Nairobi Regional Office, effective 15th August. The Nairobi RO will be based in Hill Plaza once we relocate to Upper Hill. Mr Molu will work under Arch Mwilu and will be based at my office."
The managers said these and other appointments have been made without the involvement of the management committee that normally sits formally to ratify such changes.
