Demolition of Structures On the Somalia Drive Imminent

The Minister of Public Works Gyude Moore has disclosed that the demolition of structures on the Somalia Drive Road is expected to commence within a couple of weeks.

According to Min. Moore, the demolition exercise is part of the preparations for the construction of a four-lane road, which he stated, is expected to kick off by the Japanese government early October.

Min. Moore mentioned that there is no plan for any form of compensation from government for those who own structures that fall within the demolition areas because, according to him, the government had previously paid them in order for them to vacate those areas.
