PM Wants Speedy Improvements in EDM and Post Office

Maputo — Mozambican Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario has given the new chairpersons of the publicly owned electricity company (EDM) and of the Mozambican Post Office three months to present development strategies for these two enterprises.

Rosario was speaking on Thursday after he had sworn into office Mateus Magala as chairperson of the EDM board, and Valdemar Jessen to run the Post Office.

Magala, who was previously a senior official in the African Development Bank (ADB), takes over from Gildo Sibumbe, who has been appointed to EDM's Project Implementation Technical Unit (UTIP).
