Johannesburg - Disgruntled residents of Zebediela in Limpopo on Saturday put the local plaza under lockdown, said police.

"They have locked the gates to the mall," said Captain Mamphaswa Seabi.

It was understood that the group was protesting over poor service delivery in the area.

Seabi said around 600 locals had gathered at the mall. Others had barricaded the four-way stop at Moletlane village.

Police officers were monitoring the situation. No arrests had been made.
