Sewage Floods Keetmans House

KEETMANSHOOP resident Sarah Maria de Klerk wants the local municipality to compensate her for damage caused by sewage that flooded her house on Sunday.

De Klerk believed a clogged main sewer line spewed the sewage into her unoccupied house. She has been staying at her daughter's house for the past three months and a neighbour alerted her through an SMS at around 12h00 on Sunday that water was flowing out of the house.

De Klerk said the sewage flooded the house was up to three metres deep in some parts of the building.
When The Namibian arrived at the house, it found De Klerk and her family members scooping out buckets of sewage out of the house.
