Heavy rain, wind wreak havoc in Daru Busumbala

Heavy rain and windstorm on Friday evening caused serious damage to fifteen compounds and a mosque in Daru Busumbala village of the Kombo North District, in the West Coast Region.

This has left several people homeless, forcing them to seek shelter in their neighbourhood and schools. During the process, some people sustained serious wounds and were eventually rushed to hospital for treatment.

Expressing his shock and disbelief, Hon. Pa Lamin Jatta, the National Assembly member for Kombo North District, said natural calamities are inevitable, particularly ones caused by powerful winds and rains.

These families, he affiirmed, are in a desperate need to remedy the prevailing constraints they are faced with at the moment.
