30 Buildings in Urban District of Sambizanga Concluded
Luanda - Thirty buildings are completed in the urban district of Sambizanga in Luanda, as part of urban facelift underway the region, announced on Thursday here, the minister of Urbanisation and Housing, José Silva.
The minister said so to the press during the visit paid by Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the urban district of Sambizanga, where housing developments are being built to minimize the housing shortage faced by the population.
The official said that all infrastructures are almost concluded, with the exception of industrial water drainage system, which is in the final stages.
The minister informed that the buildings are in the delivery phase to future dwellers, missing only the finishes on water and power technical networks, as well as sewage.
Jose Silva said that the methodology defined for the implementation of urban facelift strategy consists in a first phase, generally, on the urbanization of an available area (empty) with the aim of accommodating the resident population in the surrounding areas.
"This strategy will build new housing developments in a phased manner, in empty areas after the moving of the population from degraded areas to better zones", he said.
