Kenya's Developers told to get approvals
THE owners of buildings constructed without City Hall's approval have three months to regularise them or their structures will be demolished, Governor Evans Kidero has said.
Yesterday, he said many residential buildings do not have City Hall's approval because the owners do not have title deeds of the land.
"Most of the developers in Nairobi, especially in Eastlands, bought the land from land buying companies and therefore they lack title deeds, which is a requirement for construction approval," Kidero said.
"So we are giving the owners of such buildings three months to make self-declaration and come to us so that we can inspect their buildings and give them approval certificates."
