Angola wants to create industrial development hubs in all provinces

Luanda - Angola intends to create at least one Industrial Growing Site in each province for the use of local resources and creation of jobs to ensure their development, said Wednesday in Luanda the State Secretary for Industry, Kiala Gabriel.

The official was addressing the theme on investment opportunities in Angola in the industrial sector, on the 2nd day of Economic Forum Germany/Angola.

Kiala Gabriel said that the country is available to dialogue and negotiate with countries that want to cooperate in creating industrial growing points.

The official mentioned the recycling process as one of the priorities of industrialisation programme.

According to him, at a certain stage the countries will also depend on processing waste to ensure their electricity.

On the other hand, he said that within the industrialization programme the sector plans to develop "cleusters" in the fields of food and housing while finalising the strategy for the development of human resources for the sector.

The State Secretary mentioned the sector of agro-industry, footwear, agriculture support equipment, textile and recycling as having been identified as the great investment opportunity in the country.

Speaking on investment opportunities in the provinces of Zaire, Cuanza Norte, Malanje and Cunene, the governor of Malanje province, Norberto dos Santos, said that his province (Malanje) has a five thousand-kilometer road network which need an investment to produce cereals, pulses, cotton, livestock, horticulture, fruit growing process.

Meanwhile, 20 German companies settled in Angola are expected Thursday in Malanje to study on possible investment in the areas.
