In Los Angeles, Autopia Meets Noir
“L.A. Noir” is a special kind of noir found in classic films like Double Indemnity (seen above), Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, and Blade Runner. Architectural historian Reyner Banham defined four facets of Los Angeles' urban landscape: Surfurbia, The Foothills, Plains of Id and Autopia. It's Autopia that has featured most in movies like these.
