Kenya: Key Road Works Stall Over Sh2.6 Billion

[The Star]

Construction of two key roads in Eldoret at a cost of Sh2.6 billion has stalled after the government failed to provide the money to pay contractors. President Kibaki commissioned the construction work in December last year but since then, no work has been going on, prompting complaints by residents of the region. No work has taken place on the Eldoret-Ziwa-Kitale and the Mosoriot Kabiyet roads despite the awarding of contracts for their construction.
