Kenya: Dual Road to Change the Face of Eastleigh
Traders are set to incur losses as a contractor embarks on constructing a dual carriageway cutting across Nairobi's Eastleigh estate. Most of the magnificent shopping malls in the estate have encroached on road reserves. Businesspeople have ignored notices issued earlier this year to demolish the malls at their own cost. The Kenya Urban Roads Authority yesterday awarded H. Young Construction Company a Sh252,350,328.10 contract for the rehabilitation that is expected to last 15 months.
