Kenya: Ugandan Road Engineers Move to Repair Malaba Damaged Bridge
ENGINEERS from Uganda National Roads Authority yesterday moved to rescue the Malaba international bridge which is on the verge of collapse. They arrived in Malaba amidst fears by industry players that the 52-year-old bridge could collapse anytime. Led by Chris Opochi, the in charge of Eastern Uganda, the engineers toured the bridge which has developed cracks and big potholes. Truck drivers have threatened to boycott using the bridge for fear that it will collapse.
