Keith Design/M2K Architecture Wins International Design Awards

Coinciding with their 10th year anniversary, Keith Design/M2K Architecture has won top honours with a number of international design awards for their hospitality projects.

Awards include two World Luxury Awards -‘Luxury Hotel 2011’and‘Best Luxury Wellness Spa 2011’for the refurbishment of the 86 roomed Oyster Box Hotel in Durban; an International Hotel Award – ‘Best International Small Hotel Construction and Design 2011’ for the 24 room eco friendly rain forest resort Nyungwe Forest Lodge in Rwanda; and a Spa Traveller Award -‘Best International Spa 2011’ for the 12 Apostles Hotel in Cape Town. The firm has also received a selection of coveted magazine awards in 2011 including: 

The Long Beach hotel in Mauritius, a 165 room contemporary ‘hip hotel’ has been named ‘The Best New Resort Hotel 2011’ by Hotel & Lodge Magazine; and‘ The 100 Best Hotels in the World 2011’ by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine and ‘Best for Family Friendly Resort 2011’in the Harpers Bazaar UK, Bazaar Lux Island Resorts. 

The Kensington Place 8 room luxurious boutique hotel in Cape Town, has been awarded ‘Best Urban Boutique Hotel’by Tatler Magazine and was chosen as the ‘Travellers Choice 2012’ by Trip Advisor. 

Company Co-founder Keith Mehner says that his firm has become very well known for its design excellence and that these awards are testament to that. “Recognition in the form of these awards is a great way to mark our 10th year of operations in which time we have completed noteworthy hotel projects in 11 countries throughout Africa, Europe and the Indian Ocean region.”

Keith Design/M2K Architecture, which offers architecture and design focused mainly on the hospitality industry, has grown to a staff of 22 Architects and Interior designers over the past 10 Years. “We have a team of conceptually strong, highly acclaimed interior designers, complemented by the expertise and vision of partner M2K Architecture.”

Mehner says that the firm’s collective offering is extensive. “Whether it is designing a five-star hotel, devising a space saving solution or selecting the finest finishes to create a space that is both aestheically pleasing and exceptionally functional in its design, we do it by applying inspiration, insight, integrity and intense desire to exceed client expectations.”

Keith Interior Design/M2K Architecture was established as a venture between the directors of Keith Architects & Designers and ADK Architects, M2K Architecture.
