The bustle of Long and Kloof Streets never extended to the eastward edge of the inner city but a bold plan by the Cape Town Partnership intends to create a vibrant design-orientated district dubbed The Fringe which will hopefully create jobs and contribute billions of rands to GDP over the next 20 years.
