Design Charrettes at the Green Building Conference and Exhibition 2011
An exciting and unique opportunity awaits delegates at the Green Building Conference and Exhibition at the Sandton Convention Centre on the 13th and 14th July 2011: the opportunity to participate in an integrated design charrette.
Although an age-old term "charrette" – or multidisciplinary workshop - is on the forefront of innovative and collaborative design.Delegates will participate alongside a professional facilitator and a panel of experts in two hour long sessions, as they workshop the retrofitting' of a building in real time.
Together, a community dialogue will bring light to the potential benefits or shortcomings of potential green building strategies. While interventions are being discussed the computerised building plan will be amended by a programme developer present, and at the end at the end of the design charrette, a post-intervention audit will be conducted to determine the impact of the implemented design interventions on the building's performance.
Delegates at the Green Building Conference and Exhibition 2011 will have a choice of building types across three charrettes: retail, residential and commercial. The charrettes will consolidate the knowledge gained from presentations from international region and local experts in the plenary during the preceeding day and half of deliberations.
The Green Building Conference and Exhibition will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on the 13th-14th July 2011. For more information please visit http://www.greenbuilding.co.za, or email email@example.com or call (021) 447 4733.
