Olympia Paints, a Cape-based paint manufacturing company, has long been known to provide excellent-quality paint and paint accessories to the trade sector.  They have built a good reputation for producing high quality products which are competitively priced, with customer satisfaction at the heart of everything they do.

2018 is a landmark year for Olympia as it celebrates its 20th year in the manufacture and supply of its paint products which range from interior and exterior coatings, to roof-, and timber coatings.

Says company CEO, Palash Moodley, “We are extremely proud of our achievements spanning 20 years; we are constantly improving and refining our range with respect to quality and durability, and I believe that this has enabled us to build and sustain long-standing clients and relationships along the way.

“Our product range has truly stood the test of time and has graced the walls and buildings of many government and private sector establishments, both in South Africa, as well as into the rest of Africa.

“Our anniversary year is proving to be a year where we have cause to celebrate a number of milestones and achievements.  Olympia has been awarded our ISO 9001:2015 certification which represents a significant highlight in the life of our organisation.  Not only does the Quality Management System help management and employees to consistently improve on the quality of our operations, it validates for us that we have managed to increase and sustain customer satisfaction with our products”, concludes Palash.

A changing economic environment, as well as ever-evolving customer shopping habits and behaviour, have necessitated that Olympia reviews how they currently do business in order to remain relevant in the marketplace.  It is for this reason that their 20th anniversary also marks their entry into a new customer target segment, i.e. the end-user or domestic customer.

“We are extremely excited by this new direction our company is heading in”, says Palash, “as busy lives as people lead, there is still a strong sense of gratification and pride that comes from investing time and energy into doing our own home improvements.  As we have journeyed with our clients in the trade sector, we look forward to a journey spanning the next 20 years, and beyond, with many households across South Africa, and Africa.

Olympia understands the importance of reaching this customer with a product selection which suits their specific requirements, at the right price, and which is readily available.  “Speed to market and convenience is everything”, says Palash, “It is for this reason that we have adapted a section of our manufacturing plant to enable the mixing of smaller quantities which can be readily dispatched”.

Olympia’s full product range will be available exclusively from their online shop - https://www.olympiapaints.co.za/.

In line with their 20th anniversary, as well as their expansion into a new market, the entire paint range is also sporting a brand-new look.

A new, more modern, font is bolder to accentuate and emphasise product names.

The addition of hexagon patterning layered across all the product categories was used to symbolise the formulations and chemical structures; lines and shapes have the feel of a mathematical diagram, much like DNA formulations in paint chemistry, signifying the absolute care and detail which Olympia applies to producing high-quality paint.

Shades of colour which have been applied within the hexagons are pantone colours selected from the Olympia product range, and which represents their extensive and comprehensive product catalogue.  The use of pastel colours creates an ethereal and cloud-like ambience, while the ‘swish’ at the bottom of the can symbolises smooth and effortless product application.

The ‘look’ of the 20th anniversary stamp is borrowed from older designs, and typifies the company’s history, as well as its status as a trusted and respected paint brand.

While the exterior look has changed, ‘hero’ products such as satin sheen acrylics (Akrosheen), pure acrylic matt coatings (Akrocote), pure acrylic waterproof coatings (Akrodek), decorative plasters (Akroplast), wall coatings (Nucover), pure acrylic roof coatings (Roofbrite), exterior varnishes (Woodglow), and timber preservatives (Woodseal) will continue to be a core feature of the product offering for both the trade and domestic customer segments.
