When was architectafrica.com established?

As the originator and founder of this website I have been asked by the current owners to clarify the answer to the above question.

When was Architect Africa established? Was it 1994, 1995, 1999 or 2000?

Take your pick ...

If you go to the Internet Time Machine ( http://web.archive.org/web/20000407113006/http://www.architectafrica.com/ ) the first record is dated 7 April 2000. That was the date on which this site was crawled by the Web Archive - at that point the site had been online on the Web for about 5 or 6 years, at first as a sub-domain of cyberlink.co.za (now defunct).

The "official" birthdate of the site is 24 January 1995 - that was the day in which it received its first unsolicitated "hit", although it had been online for about four months. (Many days passed before the next hit!)

Prior to public access to the Internet and the World Wide Web being made available in South Africa (1994), Architect Africa had been in existence for some four years as a BBS (Bulletin Board Service)first running on Remote Access ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RemoteAccess )
