2011 - Remembered for Media Onslaught

THIS year shall be one of the least memorable for the media, particularly The Standard journalists, as they bore the full brunt of an assault on media freedoms. The stage was set with the arrest last year of the editor, Nevanji Madanhire and reporter Nqobani Ndlovu on charges of criminal defamation.
