The prominence that the Africa Group and Civil Society expected agriculture to be given in the negotiations was almost absent in COP17. This realization caused a lot of agitation during the last few days of the Conference to the extent that Africa Civil Society and their counterparts from the North led a strong campaign with a slogan "No Agriculture, No Deal".
