Responsibly Developing Mine Affected Areas

Mineseeker Operations and EnerVue Oil & Gas Inc. announced today, an exclusive partnership to work together in oil and gas markets affected by landmines and other unexploded remnants of war. Mineseeker, a leading aerial mine survey and mapping organisation announced its new partnership with EnerVue, an independent Canadian oil and gas company, for the sustainable development of mine affected lands. Mineseeker and EnerVue intend to jointly create implementation strategies for the development of oil and gas in mine affected areas.

CANSA addresses acute shortage of Lymphoedema clinics

The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is encouraging all women to invest in their health by learning how to detect women’s cancers early. CANSA launched its Lymphoedema programme as part of its women’s health campaign to celebrate International Gynaecological Health Day on Thursday, 10 September.

NDA gets behind the President’s jobs promise

Johannesburg, 2 December - The National Development Agency (NDA), has jumped in to contribute to the President’s promise of creating jobs. About 31 young unemployed graduates will be participating in six- and nine-month internship programmes respectively. The first 9 Information Technology interns have already reported for duty and assigned to the various provinces where NDA has offices.

Competition Commission exemption could ensure stability of liquid fuel supply to industry

10 October 2011 - Last Friday the Competition Commission of South Africa granted the petroleum and refinery industry an exemption following an application by SAPIA, the South African Petroleum Industry Association, in April 2010. The exemption enables the participants in the various stages of the supply chain to enter into the collaborative exchange of information necessary to ensure the stability of supply, as well as efficient use of the supply chain facilities.
