'Tin Mining Exposes Jos Residents to Cancers'

[Daily Trust]Abandoned tin mining sites in Jos and neighbouring towns have exposed residents to increasing incidence of cancer linked to radioactive waste, Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu has said. He said this yesterday at the National Council on Health meeting in Abuja. Chukwu said the mining areas contained "radioactive elements which were part of the waste and locals are now using them to plaster their homes."
