NCC Fines - GSM Firms to Invest U.S.$1.8 Billion On Network Upgrade

Following the N1.17 billion fines imposed on all four GSM operators at the weekend by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), MTN Nigeria and Etisalat Nigeria, two of the affected operators said yesterday that they were investing $1.3 billion and $500 million respectively to expand their networks and enhance quality service delivery to subscribers.
