Over the years, most rich fellows and house owners, especially amongst indigenes from different tribes and local government areas in Rivers State , seem to be employing Hausa men from Nigeria's northern states as gatemen and security guards in their houses. In fact, the job of manning gates in many homes across the garden city, is seen as the exclusive preserve of Hausa men. Some Calabar and Akwa Ibom men equally share slots as gatemen, but a great majority of the group are Hausas.
