Averting More Flood Disasters

The ancient city of Ibadan was submerged by flood early last week. The disaster left in its wake 102 dead and over 1,500 displaced, according to figures released by the Red Cross. Property worth millions of naira was destroyed. The Ibadan incident came on the heels of a similar incident in Lagos that claimed so many lives, rendered many homeless and destroyed property worth millions of naira. Some other cities in the country have experienced the disaster this year.
