Wabukala On Sugar Row
[The Star]
ANGLICAN Archbishop Eliud Wabukala has asked MPs to pass the Sugar Act, 2001 to benefit farmers. Wabukala called on MPs from sugar-growing areas to unite and push for amendment of the bill in Parliament. "To solve the predicament facing cane growers, legislators should come together and put in place structures that will benefit both the miller and farmer," Wabukala said. He said currently farmers do not benefit fully from their cane proceeds because the Act does not outline such benefits.
