U.S. Offers Sh2.8 Billion for Al Shabaab Commanders

[The Star] A bounty of Sh2.8 billion is up for grabs for anyone who gives information that will lead to the whereabouts of seven top al Shabaab leaders. The bounty is being offered by the US as concerted efforts by the international community against the al Qaeda-linked insurgent group gets into top gear. The US has also given $300 million (Sh25.5 billion) funding to the African Mission in Somalia which the Kenya Defence Forces formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join a week ago on June 1.
