PSC to Meet Over MPs Taxation

The Parliamentary Service Commission will meet today and may decide not to honor a request by some members of parliament to deduct taxes from their salaries. The commission is chaired by house speaker Kenneth Marende and oversees the payments of MPs and staff of the national assembly. The commission is expected to hold negotiations with the Revenue Authority over the tax man's decision to demand taxes from their salaries and allowances back dated to August last year.
