Poor Eyesight for Pupils Could Have Adverse Effects

Undetected eye problems in school going children may lead to the development of a condition known as lazy eye; which is irreversible if not treated at an early stage. According to eye specialist Murtaza Sonje, there is a need to sensitize teachers and school nurses on how to conduct basic vision tests on pupils. An annual learning assessment report launched today reveals that 3 out of every 100 pupils in school today cannot read due to poor eyesight.
