NGOs Oppose Plan to Tax Churches

[The Star] THE NGOs Council has opposed plans by the government to begin taxing income raised by churches, civil society groups and charities as proposed by Finance minister Njeru Githae. NGO Council chairman Ken Wafula says the proposal made by Githae in last week's budget will force many international NGOs to withdraw from the country while local ones will be forced to close down.
