KTDA to Give Farmers New Tea Variety

[The Star]KENYA Tea Development Agency is set to introduce a new and high yielding tea variety for farmers. Board chairman Peter Kanyago said the agency has embarked on replacing the current tea varieties with a higher yielding new variety to boost productivity and ensure better returns for farmers. "The new tea varieties that are being developed at Kangaita's Research Station in Kirinyaga county will see the production of new high yielding clones that will gradually replace the current crop being grown,"he said.
