Inspector General's Post Must Be Advertised Publicly

The appointment of Inspector General of police is a matter of public interest and public participation in the process is important to restore public confidence in the police service. Politicization and unilateral appointment of the Inspector General of Police will compromise the independence of the police service and must be avoided. As such, the selection and appointment of the Inspector General must be made public.
