Mosquitoes may soon be tricked to kill their own offspring in a new effort to control malaria. Scientists said the approach has been successful in Peru and they are now testing its viability in East Africa. The plan works by enticing mosquitoes to pick up dour-baited chemicals as they rest and delivering the poison to their own breeding sites. "We need to see whether we can entice enough mosquitoes to be unwitting carriers of the chemical - to make a measurable impact on the abundance of malaria mosquitoes
