Fishermen Call for EAC Common Policy

[The Star] Fish farmers in Kenya have called for uniform size of fishing nets between Kenya and Tanzania at Lake Jipe. The Kenyan traders lamented that while Tanzania fishing policies allow 2 and a half inch size nets, Kenya allows 4 inches, endangering fish at the border lake. They were speaking during an East African Community awareness meeting in Taveta. "Its very unfair for us to use different size nets yet the fish are the same. We call for a universal policy on fishing between the two countries," said Chanzu Kh
